As I plunge headlong into the world of blogging, it is important to introduce myself and my passion. I’m Harry Baker, 22, aspiring football journalist, and all around fanatic of the beautiful game. I have been hooked ever since my first game in the 1994/95 season, where my local team Norwich beat Liverpool 2:1. In those fledgling years of fandom I remember my dad nurturing my interest in the stats of the game, and it is a part of the sport that has never bored me. I’m still looking out for who has the most goals or assists in Europe, and who has had the most clean sheets. For example, at one point last season I took great pleasure in discovering that for a weekend or so Norwich City’s Grant Holt had scored the most goals in all of the European leagues and cup competitions (though extremely short lived!) This blog is going to mix reflections on current incidents in European football with my passion for statistics. Well here goes…
